The engine's interaction modes. (Historical note: a "correct" mode — the two-box transcript editor — existed until the append-only pivot removed it, and a "vscode" jump-handover mode until the jump capability replaced it; correction and mode EVENTS remain in the stream vocabulary below so historical traces still fold.)
